Frequently asked

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Please come with your curls down, DRY, clean & detangled (washed within 1-2 days of your appointment or freshly washed morning of your appointment). Use product if it significantly affects the way your curls curl up. We want to see what you see. Please don’t come in with your hair pulled back, straightened or wet- we will need to reschedule if we aren’t able to see your curls.

Do you offer styling for special occasions?

Yes we do! In order to book a special occasion we require a consultation to see if we are a good fit for you and the style you are going for. Consultation is $15. For more information, please call or text our salon (801) 396-0137

What is your cancellation policy?

You can find our cancellation policy on our Policies page.

We require 48 hours notice before the appointment to cancel your appointment without a cancellation fee. This means 48 hours BEFORE your scheduled appointment date… i.e. if your appointment is in on June 15th you need to cancel by June 13th.

No Shows and cancellations with less that 48 hours notice will result in a fee which is 50% of the scheduled service.

Do you cut curls wet or dry?

We always do our curly cuts dry, NEVER wet. Curl shapes and lengths are significantly different from wet to dry. If we were to cut curls wet the result would be very different once its dry. When curls are in their dry form and cut dry we are better able to see how the curls will settle once they’re washed.

Does pricing change depending on the stylist?

Yes, all of our stylists have different levels of experience, education and certifications which affect the price. Our pricing is noted on the service when you book.

What can happen after a curly cut?

On occasion (especially if we take off a lot of length or completely change the shape) curls go through “Curl Shock”. What this means: Your curls were used to being long or living in a certain place, When you get a curly cut those curls now have to learn how to curl up more or even have to find new curl families to live with. This only lasts a couple washes. They should behave after that.
